Dimly lit craft beer bar with rows of bottles on shelves

We pour what we
believe in

A no-nonsense beer bar where every tap is rotated by hand, every bottle is chosen for its story, and the glass is always cold.

Our Story

Not every tap
earns its place.

Standard Beer opened on 15th Street with one conviction: a beer bar should be honest about what it serves. No gimmicks. No house brands pushed to fill space. Just a carefully curated selection that changes with the seasons and the brewers who make them.

We are neighbours first. The regulars know us, and we know them — by name, by order, by the quiet understanding that this is a place to slow down. Whether you are passing through Over-the-Rhine or living around the corner, there is a seat waiting.

"A well-poured beer is a small act of respect — for the brewer, the ingredient, and the person drinking it."

The Selection

What is on
tap tonight

01

Draft

Six to twelve rotating taps. We feature local Cincinnati breweries alongside small-batch producers from across the region. Seasonal stouts in winter. Crisp lagers in summer. The list is always worth reading.

02

Bottle List

A deliberately narrow collection of 40 to 60 bottles — IPAs, sours, barrel-aged stouts, and European imports. Nothing we would not drink ourselves. If it is not on the list, it is not here.

03

Glasses

Every pour is a proper pour. We use appropriate glassware for every style, because the vessel changes the experience. Ask us about the difference — we will show you.

04

Non-Alcoholic

A small but thoughtful selection of craft NA beers and house-made shrubs. You do not have to choose between socialising and sobriety here.

The Space

Quiet enough
to talk.

The interior is simple — reclaimed wood, low light, and seating that does not force you to perform. There is no TV. The music is low. This is a room designed for the kind of conversation that gets lost when the noise level rises.

The bar seats six. The tables hold four comfortably. On busy nights, standing room appears near the taps — and that is part of the rhythm too.
